Welcome aboard, Howard!
Yes, you can access WiFi onboard the Disney Magic while you are out at sea.
Connect@Sea allows you access to the internet while onboard any of the Disney Cruise ships. Just be warned that it is still quite slow... the technology isn't quite as speedy as it is on land. You can purchase different packages -- 100MB to 1000MB, or pay as you go per MB, if you intend to remain connected throughout your voyage.
On embarkation day, Disney Cruise Line also offers free 50mb of data - just enough to do some postings on social media. All data usage that you purchase for your stateroom can be shared within your family.
For smart phone users, you can now download the
Disney Cruise Line Personal Navigator App before you sail. Use of the App is free, when you log into the ship's WiFi. Once you are onboard, just re-launch the app and it will be populated with the most up to date information -- schedules, activities, menus, shows, etc will be right at your fingertips. A new feature was just added that I can't wait to try on my next voyage -- you can use the new messaging tool to send text messages for other smart phone users in your family onboard.
I noticed that the wireless signals inside the staterooms have improved this past year - so, if you decide to bring a laptop, you'll be able to pick up the WiFi signal in most areas onboard, and have no issues connecting while in your stateroom either. Hope this info helps, Howard.
Have a great day!
