Hi there, Michael! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm so excited to hear that a magical vacation to
Walt Disney World Resort is on the horizon! Spring is my favorite time to visit and I'm absolutely twitterpated for you. My husband and I traveled to The Most Magical Place on Earth with my own parents last spring, where my parents utilized the Disability Access Service (DAS), too! Michael, I'd love to help you with your question about DAS so your wife's parents don't miss a minute of the magic.
The
Disability Access Service (DAS) allows eligible Guests to receive DAS return times in two ways: by making up to 2
DAS Advance pre-arrival selections before arrival, and through the
My Disney Experience app once in the parks. Guests can make the most out of their experience by using both of these options! It sounds like your wife's parents made their DAS Advance selections and are hoping to change one of the rides. These DAS Advance selections are intended to only be made during the initial registration so Cast Members can focus on helping new Guests through the registration process. However, my best piece of advice would be to use the
same-day DAS return time self-selection tool in the
My Disney Experience app! This option appears once the eligible Guest has entered the park and can be accessed by tapping the icon that looks like three stacked lines ≡ in the bottom right corner of the screen, then scrolling down and tapping the DAS tile. The great thing about attractions made with the DAS self-selection tool is that return times don't expire and are valid until the park closes, while the DAS Advance pre-arrival selections will expire after the return time window closes. I've found that the DAS self-selection tool is the best way to navigate an adventurous and unpredictable park day!
The My Disney Experience app is also a great resource to check wait times for attractions, view park maps, access
virtual queues, and even
mobile order food. I don't know about you, but I love knowing my meals and snacks will be ready before I ever feel a rumbly in my tumbly! This is a great way to minimize waits and maximize the fun while touring the parks.

you've got a friend in me.
See ya real soon!
