It will be my wife's and my 40th anniversary when we visit disneyworld this OCT16. How can i go about setting up a ride for the parade for us? Also we use to get maps sent to us from every park,do u still do that?

Hello Bruce!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Congratulations on your 40th Anniversary! My wife and I plan to celebrate our 10th Anniversary this year by dining at Victoria and Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in August.

The Grand Marshals for the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom are generally selected from those families waiting at the Ticket Gates or mulling about Main Street, U.S.A. early in the morning. This is usually due to the Grand Marshall's inclusion in the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show, but is not always the case. In my experience, the family has young children and are often dressed in Disney regalia. Other than that, there is no set rules or ways to be selected to be a part of the Festival of Fantasy Parade.

I recommend that you arrive at Magic Kingdom before the park opens with your celebratory buttons proudly displayed wearing your matching Mickey shirts and look as welcoming as possible. If people knew more about the selection process than that, I'd know a lot more Grand Marshals.

A more reliable option would be to make Advanced Dining Reservations for a fantastic Signature Dining Event at one of Walt Disney World Resorts fabulous dining locations with a surprise sent to the table from Disney FLoral & Gifts.

Unfortunately, the customizable and printable maps that used to be available from the Walt Disney World Site are no longer available.

    Happy Celebrating!
