Hello My wife and I are both 68 years old. I am about to retire after 36 years with a school district. My wife has never been to a Disney park and I would love to take her to Disneyland in California. Is there a seniors package? Our budget is limited.

A warm welcome from all of us at planDisney to you, William. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. There's no better place to celebrate those milestone occasions than at the Happiest Place on Earth, so let's get started.

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement! I have celebrated many things at the Disneyland Resort and fully support your decision. While there isn't a specific discount for seniors, right now, there are a lot of really great offers that may work for your upcoming trip. You can take advantage of the 3-Day Disneyland Ticket Offer to visit the theme parks three times from now until September 26th. You have the option of purchasing a ticket to visit the parks Monday to Thursday, or you can purchase a ticket that allows you to visit Monday to Sunday. I recommend carefully looking at the offer details to see if this may work for your trip.

If you're looking to stay in the magic at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you may be able to take advantage of the Summer Hotel Room Savings Offer. You can save up to 25% off your hotel stay (depending on how long you plan to stay) when you book by September 12th for stays between now and September 26th. Visit the Disneyland site to plug in your dates and see if a discount may apply to your stay. I always recommend checking the Offers & Discounts page to see if anything might fit your needs.

If your visit will be outside of these offer dates, you may want to consider a Disneyland Vacation Package. When you stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel with your vacation package, you are required to pay a $200 deposit (amount subject to change) at the time of booking and then the remaining balance isn't due until 30 days prior to your arrival. You can make payments leading up to this day to help spread out the cost. If this doesn't work, you may also want to consider a Good Neighbor Hotel. These hotels are not on resort property, but many of them are very close to the parks - many are even within walking distance.

William, I hope I've given you some good ideas and a starting point for your upcoming magical adventure. Here's hoping that you find that glass slipper package for you and your wife. Make sure to pick up your complimentary "1st Visit!" and "I'm Celebrating:" buttons to mark the occasion. These can be found in most of the shops on Main Street, U.S.A. - just ask a friendly Cast Member.

Cheers to you, William! Please come back to visit us with any other questions that you might have.

    Happy planning!
    Michelle
