Hi Lucas! I’m happy to hear that your family is planning a visit to Mickey and Minnie’s Florida home next year! Thanks for bringing your question about the
Disney Dining Plan to planDisney!
When it comes to getting ready for Walt Disney World Resort vacations in my home, I am the planner, and my wife is the “budgeter.” We studied the same question that you brought to planDisney. In the end, we realized that the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan was of value to our family of five! While the value of the plan came out to be just about what we would spend on food, meals, snacks, and drinks, without the plan, we realized the convenience of the plan was most important to us. We like being able to visit the Disney Parks without a wallet, purse, or cards. More importantly, we love knowing that things have been prepaid as part of our vacation package. It just adds some peace of mind and flexibility to our vacation!
We find that the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan (which does not include table service meals) works well for our family. We really enjoy table service meals at the Walt Disney World Resort, but we don’t typically plan enough table service meals during our vacation to warrant the
Disney Dining Plan (which includes table service meals). We’ll usually just pay “on the go” for a table service meal if we book one.
Lucas, one of the other aspects that I appreciate about Disney Dining Plans is that they accumulate during your vacation. Unused meal and snack credits accumulate from day-to-day if they go unused. You can redeem your credits at any time during your vacation up until midnight on your checkout day.
I hope this information helps you and your family!
Happy Planning (and happy Disney Dining)!
Jonathan
