My wife and I are visiting WDW next month and we would like to enter EPCOT via the International Gateway. We are not staying at a Disney hotel; can we still get on the Skyliner at Riviera Resort? Or are only hotel guests allowed to get on there?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Ben!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! From roaring roller coasters to nighttime fireworks that will make your jaw drop, you’re about to dive headfirst into the kind of MAGIC you can’t find anywhere else. The smells, the sights, and the thrills are all waiting for you around every corner. It's time to start your arrival countdown and get ready because you are about to tackle Disney like a champ and make memories that will last a lifetime!

So, are you ready for some TIGGER-ific news?! I am very happy to share with you that you do not have to stay at a Disney resort to ride the Disney Skyliner from the Riviera Resort. Anyone can hop aboard and enjoy that breezy, bird’s-eye view over Walt Disney World. The Skyliner is part of Disney’s overall transportation system, and just like the monorail or buses, it’s open to all guests, whether you’re a resort guest or just visiting for the day.

I wanted to let you know that you are not allowed to drive up and park at the Riviera Resort unless you have a confirmed dining reservation. Disney security will check for that at the entrance, and without it, they will not let you park. But don’t worry—there are still plenty of easy ways to make it happen without staying the night.

One of the simplest tricks is to park at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios on a park day and then walk or ride right over to a Skyliner station. This way, you can enjoy the gondola ride without the hassle of parking. Another fun option is to park at Disney Springs and take a bus to the Riviera Resort. Once you arrive, you can stroll over to the Skyliner and hop right on with no problem. It’s a fantastic way to mix a little resort-hopping into your day while still getting that scenic ride. Whether you’re gliding past the glittering waters of Hourglass Lake or floating high above the pathways to EPCOT’s International Gateway, it’s a MAGICAL start (or end) to your adventure. So yes, Riviera’s Skyliner station is fair game for you, even without a resort reservation—you just have to get there in a creative way.
