My wife and I will be visiting WDW in mid Sept. We are trying to decide between staying at POR, POFQ or Wildernes Lodge. Any suggestions on which would be a more enjoyable and relaxing resort?

Although Port Orleans is a great resort I think of the Wilderness Lodge when guests want a relaxing location.  It is situated looking out over Bay Lake which is a serene setting versus looking out over the Magic Kingdom and busy monorail system.  You get a different feel of Disney with the many birds flying to their roosts on the old Discovery Island or the Old Faithful geyser erupting every hour or so.

You have deluxe resort amenities but it is not on a monorail system.  However, you can reach Fort Wilderness by boat or walking trail, and the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom park by boat so there are other options for transportation beyond the buses.  There are two great restaurants on property, Whispering Canyon and Artist Point and both are outstanding.  Take time to sit in the lobby and enjoy the serene setting even on a busy day.  If you need a massage just take the short walk to the spa area at the Wilderness Lodge villas.  That alone will make it one of the most relaxing places to be!

You can rent boats and bikes, enjoy the pools, reserve a fishing excursion and shop at this resort. There is also a children's program called the Cubs Den for those children ages 4-12. For a relaxing resort with the amenities of a deluxe I vote Wilderness Lodge!
