Hello Chase!
Welcome to planDisney!
I don't know why but I am still carrying my MagicBand+ in my purse from my trip to Walt Disney World Resort several weeks ago. I just can't bear to remove it from my bag as I wonder if I may need to use it. It's a delusion Chase but I'm happy.
I see that you and your wife had a lovely time using your MagicBands during your last trip and hope to have your little ones experience the same fun! Well, unfortunately, once a MagicBand, MagicBand+, or card has been assigned to a guest and it has been used it
cannot be transferred to another person. Now, during my last trip, I was on the hunt for a regular MagicBand but I could not find it. I have a feeling that these bands are just not being sold or produced anymore. I do see that there are some
MagicBand 2 bands available to purchase online when guests are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. They are currently themed to the different lands in Magic Kingdom Park. That could be an option for your little ones and when purchased ahead of time they are discounted. I can see the hesitation about purchasing a MagicBand+ for little ones as my son has lost his in the
Seven Seas Lagoon. (May it Rest in Peace.) I suggest that if you do end up purchasing bands for your kids, secure them with a hair tie. I have also seen special MagicBand loops in several major online retailers that can help secure the band so kids don't lose them. When my kids were very young I just wore their bands on my arm which worked out well. I would ask my daughter to hold up my arm with her band to the touchpoints so that she can experience as much as she can.
I'm sorry that I don't have the news you wanted. Another idea I suggest is to give your kids the old bands after disconnecting them from your accounts and just use a ticket card which you can procure at any Guest Relations or Ticket booth. Let the kids know that the kids have a band and card combo and just tap along with them using both. It may create that illusion of the fun that the grownups are doing while minimizing the risk of losing something valuable.
Have a magical time and
let me know if you have more questions!
Happy Planning!
