My wife and I have visited Disney World many times just the two of us, but this April we will be visiting with our daughter for her 1st birthday. Do you have any recommendations for us, so that we can celebrate this special occassion?

Celebrating a birthday at Walt Disney World is magical, especially for a child, even a young one. Although you probably won't have to go out of your way to make the experience any more special for your daughter, here are a few suggestions:
    • Check in at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom or at guest relations at the other parks and pick up a birthday button. Many Cast Members will go out of their way to wish your child a Happy Birthday or greet her with a kind gesture to make the day more memorable.
    • Contact the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts online or at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438. If you are staying at a Disney Resort, they can help create a personalized in-room celebration featuring your favorite Disney characters. While your child may not remember the room decorations, you can capture the magic on video or camera and take home some of the souvenir decorations as keepsakes. The Dream Makers can also deliver personalized gift baskets to your Disney resort or to a Disney restaurant where you may be enjoying a celebratory meal.
    • If you are staying at a Disney resort, let them know that it's your child's birthday when you check in. It's possible the front desk may be able to help arrange some Disney magic for your daughter.
    • Arrange a special character meal dining reservation. You usually cannot go wrong with a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Again, while your daughter may be too young to remember the meal (or may sleep through it), you can capture your daughter's first meal with Mickey on video or camera to help memorialize the occasion.
    • A simple treat, like buying a your daughter a balloon along Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, will likely bring a huge smile to your daughter.
Enjoy your vacation and this special visit.
