    My wife & I visit WDW about 3 times/year, but we haven't been to AK in about 2 years. At that time, a new section was under construction. We will be in AK the last weekend in January. Is the new section open? Thanks, 101 days til WDW!

    Nice to see you back at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. While there's lots new to see and do at Animal Kingdom, the area I believe you are thinking of, Pandora -- The World of AVATAR, isn't scheduled to open until some time later in 2017.  The details the Disney Parks Blog shared earlier this summer are stunning. Rivers of Light, the nighttime spectacular, also is set to debut in the coming months.

    You still will find lots to try on your next visit to Animal Kingdom. The new Tiffins restaurant and Nomad Lounge are fantastic. Don't miss the beautiful Tree of Life Awakenings in the evening or the music and dance opportunities during the Discovery Island Carnivale. 

    My favorite "new" offerings: an after-dark ride on Expedition Everest or Kilimanjaro Safaris. So much fun and a very different experience!

    I suggest you keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for word on opening dates for Pandora and Rivers of Light. Or just keep checking back with us. We're always happy to assist!
