Welcome to planDisney, Steven!
You must be so excited for your upcoming visit to
Walt Disney World. It looks like you've taken care of the biggest details, too. Well done!
My family and I love a nice, luxuriously long vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth, but the type of trip you're planning is a favorite for my husband and I. You're going to love it!
Calling
Disney's BoardWalk Inn home during your stay was a smart move, as it centers you between two of the four theme parks, making touring those locations a breeze. You'll have access to the back door to
EPCOT, via the International Gateway meaning your entrance to the park will be much quicker. Nice!
In addition, there is a
Disney Skyliner station just outside of that EPCOT entrance, giving you a birds-eye view as you easily travel to
Disney's Hollywood Studios via aerial gondola. Should one of your dining reservations happen to be at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, located at
Disney's Riviera Resort, the Disney Skyliner can get you there, too. Of course, you can always opt to use the easy, paved waterside walking path to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios as well.
If it is your first time staying in this location, prepare to be wowed by
Disney's BoardWalk. Some of our favorite restaurants are there, including
Trattoria al Forno (Advanced Dining Reservation required) and
Boardwalk Bakery (a great Quick Service location), and you really must make a stop at
AbracadaBar--it's so fun!
Just a quick walk from your resort is
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, which is located at Disney's Beach Club Resort. If you have room in your schedule for a casual--but delicious--Quick Service lunch, dinner, or snack, this is also a must-do. Advanced Dining Reservations are required, and I promise you that their sandwiches, onion rings and any one of their shakes, sodas, or sundaes are worth the visit. (Okay, now I'm craving
all of them... :-) )
Bonus: because you're visiting
this August, you'll get the treat of experiencing
Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival--a truly special event!
Finally, to pack the most pixie dust into your visit, I would focus on attractions that you can't experience in Disneyland. Look at each park's list of options and plan to try those that are not available in California or that were not yet opened when you last visited Walt Disney World. There's always something new to try, so have fun with it!
As you craft your perfect getaway, be sure to send more questions our way, Steven. We love to help!
