My wife, and I are Trying to begin the process of our first WDW trip with our Grandchildren. For September 2020. Any tips on the Best ways to begin? Do you suggest a Travel agent, or Planning on our own

    Hi Matt,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let us begin by nominating you for grandparents of the year. How wonderful of you to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort for your grandchildren!

First, I suggest that you use the incredible resources on the Walt Disney World website to decide which resort hotels and room types might be suitable for your family. Select two or three that seem like good possibilities and then check Magic Your Way Vacation Package prices including the resort hotel and theme park tickets. I also suggest that you price a vacation package with a dining plan. We have found the Disney Dining Plan to be a good value but we prefer the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan now.

Second, I have also compared prices with a travel agent but I prefer to book our trips by calling to speak to a cast member at 407-939-5277. Although September is a lovely time to visit, there may be Special Offers for vacation packages in other months. Just be sure to compare prices prior to making a reservation. Since you are planning well in advance, I suggest that you check prices for this upcoming September to get a general idea of how much the trip might cost. Of course, prices could certainly change by the dates of your travel, but I always check earlier dates so that we know how much money we might need to save!

Matt, finally, I also suggest that you have the grandchildren save their money as well. Our girls usually decorate a jar with some sort of Disney theme and use it to deposit their extra cash. We let them use the money they save to buy a souvenir or two in the parks!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
