My wife and I are running the full and half marathons (respectively) for the WDW Marathon Weekend, and we were wondering if there are going to be any light breakfast foods at the start for either race (bagels, bananas, etc.) for those who get there early.

    Hi David!

Congratulations to both you and your wife for planning to run during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!  I bet that you are both excited!  Typically there are food trucks in the pre race staging area (before you begin the walk to the corrals) and you can purchase food items from them, but you will have to remember to bring cash or credit cards with you.  A better option might be to purchase food (bagels, bananas, etc.) at your Resort the day before and bring them with you to eat before the race.  This way you will not have to carry extra things with you once the race begins (you are not supposed to put money or valuables in your race bag that you check in).

If you and your wife plan to run future runDisney Half or Full Marathons, I would encourage you to consider purchasing entrance into the Race Retreat which provides VIP access before the race to a temperature-controlled tent, private restrooms and bag check, a padded stretching area and pre-race fuel, including bagels, fruit, water, and PowerAde. Also if you have purchased Race Retreat, then after the race, you can enjoy access to a hearty brunch, private changing tents.  I have done Race Retreat for the 2013 Walt Disney World Full Marathon and it was definitely worth the cost!

I hope that every mile is truly magical for you and your wife during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!

Keep Dreaming Big and Just Keep Running!
