Hi Grant:
I've run the Disney half-marathon two years in a row, and that's only two-thirds the length of what you and your wife plan to run in just two-days in 2012. You and your wife are awesome and "goofy" for taking on this challenge.
During my years running, I did not see that Disney's
Children's Activity Centers at select Disney Resorts were open early for children of marathon runners. These Centers generally open at 4:00pm or 4:30pm daily.
I do not know if these Children's Activity Centers plan to provide special child care hours during marathon weekend in 2012. However, you can reserve in-room baby sitters through Walt Disney World's preferred childcare provider, Kid's Nite Out, which provides top-notch hotel childcare
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We've used the service and were very pleased with the babysitter we were provided. Their caregivers will arrive with appropriate activities for your little one(s) (who likely will be sleeping through most of the babysitting session since the races start so early). Kid's Nite Out caregivers are interviewed, screened, and provided with childcare training as well as a Disney Orientation. To confirm rates, find out more information, or make a reservation, you can contact Kid's Nite Out at 1-800-696-8105 or online at kidsniteout.com.
Enjoy the run.
