My wife is returning from a few months overseas, and we are trying to plan a 4 day cruise from Port Canaveral around 10 January or so. My concern is sometimes return schedules get moved around. What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy? Thank you!

    Hi, Jeffrey!

Woohoo! I can't think of a better way to celebrate getting together with my wife than enjoying a Disney cruise. My wife and I loved sailing on a Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In a few weeks, we'll be relaxing with Captain Minnie on a 7-night cruise aboard the Disney Treasure. I'm certain you are hoping to love spending time together on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line.

To make sure that everyone is "practically perfect in every way," I recommend checking out the Disney Cruise Line Terms & Conditions. You'll want to look for the "Cancellations/Refunds" section. The specific terms depend on the length of your cruise and the stateroom category you book. For most stateroom categories on a 4-night Disney cruise, cancellation fees won't be required until 89 days before sailing. Cancellation fees usually start with the per-guest deposit and increase as the sailing date gets closer. Note that the cancellation fee schedule is different for Concierge Staterooms and suites. And all stateroom categories with restrictions (e.g., IGT, OGT, or VGT) are nonrefundable and nontransferable. For example, a limited number of verandah (VGT) restricted stateroom category reservations are currently available for 20% off the current rate on the January 12, 2026, 4-night sailing out of Port Canaveral aboard the Disney Wish.

If you're uncertain about whether a particular sail date will work out, I highly recommend purchasing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan or other similar travel insurance policy. In particular, you'll likely want to make sure your plan includes some form of coverage for cancelling for "any reason." If travel dates are not firm, it may also be best to avoid stateroom categories with restrictions.

As you continue to plan your Disney cruise vacation, we're here for you at planDisney. As fellow Guests like you, it's our pleasure to offer tips and recommendations for making the most of your time together on a Disney vacation.

    Have a magical cruise, Jeffrey!
