My wife is retiring after 20 years as an elementary school teacher. She is taking our adult kids to Disneyland. Is there “special” thing that Disney provides for this (beyond the everyday special experience of Disney)?

Hi Russell! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by to ask us your question!

Congratulations to your wife on 20 amazing years of teaching! As a fellow elementary educator, I know the hard work that goes into the job and applaud her for helping students learn and grow. I think The Happiest Place on Earth is the perfect place to celebrate her dedication! While there isn't anything in particular that Disney provides above and beyond the magic of Disneyland, I have a couple of suggestions on how you could make it a special celebration for her. I recommend making an Advanced Dining Reservation for dinner for one of the evenings during the visit. You could also order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake at select dining locations. During her visit, she could also pick up a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button. The button can be found inside City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park.

Speaking of celebrations, the Disneyland Resort is celebrating 70 years of happiness and magic beginning on May 16th! There will be many new, pixie-dusted offerings, and you can learn more by checking out the Guide to the 70th Anniversary on Disney Parks Blog

    Wishing you magic,
