John from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My wife and I are both retired military 100% disabled veterans. Is our ID cards and 100% VA letter good enough to get the discount? Is there just the military discount that covers all the military offers and if not what are the differences?

    Welcome to planDisney John!

I would first like to begin by sending a huge thank you from my military family to yours. “Thank you!”. The Walt Disney World Resort does offer specially priced Theme Park tickets and great rates at select Disney Resort hotels for eligible U.S. military members. My family has in fact taken advantage of both great offers!

We were able to book our resort by calling the Walt Disney World Resort and asking for the available military rates for the dates we were planning on visiting. After we booked our hotel, we called our local U.S. military base ticket office to purchase our tickets. Within a day, we had booked everything we needed to. It was just the small details like dining and park reservations we needed to finish.

You will be happy to hEAR that you do not need to bring your VA letter with you when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort. All you need to do is stop by Guest Relations (on the very first day you are visiting the parks) and a Cast Member will be more than happy to help provide any additional services you may need. The Disability Access Service is available to Guests with disabilities who are unable to tolerate long lines and may be eligible to return to an attraction at a later time. Our oldest Mouseketeer has been using the Disability Access Service since he was about 3 years old and it has been a great help to our family! It’s extremely convenient and makes our vacation much simpler. If this is something you think may be helpful for you and your wife, be sure to ask a Cast Member at Guest Relations to help set it up for you.

I hope this helps answer your questions, John. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with when it comes to planning your visit. We’re all EARs!
