Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your winter escape to the tropical paradise of
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I can't wait for you to experience the newly refurbished,
Moana-inspired Guest rooms; they're spacious, beautiful, and the perfect place to rest after a day of wayfinding (or theme park touring)!
Now that the
Genie is out of the bottle, there's a whole new world of planning. While it's usually possible to
purchase Genie+ ahead of time by modifying your tickets, in your case, I think it'll be easier to add Genie+ each day of your trip you wish to use it.
First, make sure you and your son are
connected in My Disney Experience. That way, one of you can manage Genie+ and make Lightning Lane selections for the entire group. If you're not already linked, use the My Disney Experience dropdown menu on the Walt Disney World home page and select "My Friends & Family." Scroll down until you see the option to "Add Guest," and follow the prompts to send an e-mail invitation to connect with your son and his daughter. Once you are connected, either of you can purchase Genie+ and make
Lightning Lane selections for all linked Guests.
On a day you would like to purchase Genie+, open the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and click on the three small horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the main page to bring up the welcome screen. Next, select the magic lamp icon that says "My Day." Find a purple bar that says "Get Genie+ Service," then follow the prompts to select your party members and finalize payment. You can do this as early as midnight of the day you'd like to purchase Genie+, but since you can't make your first Lightning Lane selection until 7 AM, I suggest taking care of this over breakfast before heading out for the day. And speaking of breakfast, don't forget to
mobile order some Tonga Toast from
Capt. Cooks! Your taste buds will be saying "
mahalo" for that one.
