Welcome to planDisney, Steve!
Oh boy! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it! I am happy to assist you with your ticket question.
Once a
ticket has been linked to a
My Disney Experience account, it cannot be linked to a different account. As long as your wife has assigned your children's tickets to their profiles under her account, it is not a problem at all if you happen to be in the parks with your kids without her. You don't mention whether you also have your own My Disney Experience account - but either way, we will get you set up and ready to go.
First, you will need a way to scan your admission for entry into the theme parks. If you have
MagicBands, then your kids will be able to scan their bands at the entrance touch points, no matter who they are with. If not, I recommend creating
Disney MagicMobile passes via the
My Disney Experience app and saving them to the digital wallet on your phone. Since your wife manages your children's profiles, she will need to create the digital passes and then share them with you. (Note -- the
sharing feature is only available through iMessage on iPhones.) If your wife is unable to share the Disney MagicMobile passes with you, perhaps you could sign in to her account on your device and then create the passes to save to your phone. This is what my kids and husband do, since I am the only one with a My Disney Experience account, and an Android user, so I cannot share the passes I create.
So now that we have your kids' admission taken care of, let's talk about
Disney Genie+ service. If you plan to use Disney Genie+ to reserve
Lightning Lane access to select attractions, you will need to have your kids listed in your
Family & Friends. The easiest way to do this is to connect with your wife's My Disney Experience account using the app. Use the menu button in the lower right corner to go to your profile, choose "Family & Friends List" at the top, and scroll to the bottom of your list to choose "Add a Guest" and then "Scan their linking code". Your wife will go to her profile and select "Show My Linking Code". Once connected, you should then be able to add your kids to your Family & Friends. If you are having trouble with this process,
give the My Disney Experience tech team a call at (407) 939-4357 or stop by the
Guest Experience Team (blue umbrellas) in the parks. The other option is to sign in to your wife's My Disney Experience app on your device -- my family members all simultaneously use my credentials to log in to the app on their phones when we are in the parks.
Steve, if you need additional clarification or have other questions, please feel free to write back. Enjoy your visit!
