    Wife & I are planning 1st trip to WDW with 7 yo son. Have been told Polynesian or Contemporary are places to stay. Which do you recommend? Any moderate's you would recommend as an alternative?.

    Hi Eddie!

         Congratulations on planning for your first Walt Disney World vacation! The Polynesian Resort and the Contemporary Resort are both amazing Deluxe Resorts in every way. They both are very close to the Magic Kingdom and they are a short Monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom and another Monorail ride away from Epcot. Of the two of these, I would recommend the Polynesian Resort because of the South Pacific theme, the amazing dining options inside the Resort, and the Volcano Pool with a water slide. Another Resort in the Deluxe category that I highly recommend to you is the Wilderness Lodge Resort, which is a Resort themed after the Pacific Northwest Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone National Park. The Wilderness Lodge Resort is a very short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. 

         The Moderate Resorts that I would recommend to you is Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter or Port Orleans Resort-Riverside.  I like Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter the best because it is a compact, incredible Resort with great rooms, an awesome pool with a water slide, and a great food court. All of the buildings in French Quarter are very close to the main lobby which houses the food court, gift shop, and the Disney bus stops. No matter what Walt Disney World Resort that you choose, I am sure that you will have an incredible vacation!
