My wife and I are planning a trip to Walt Disney World later this year. Is there a particular tram or monorail that connects all four parks?

    Hiya Epfinio!

Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy, this East Coaster is excited to help a West Coaster on their trip to Walt Disney World!

There is just a picnic basket full of options when traveling in Walt Disney World Resort but there is not just one single tram or monorail that connects all four parks.  Here are the complimentary transportation options you can use to travel around the most magical place on Earth:

    • Bus: The bus is the main mode of transportation in Walt Disney World. There are bus stops at each of the four main theme parks and even the water parks! These buses also connect to every Resort as well! I love their colorful character overlays. Keep an eye out for my guy, Mickey!
    • Monorail: We have our own monorail here in Walt Disney World that reaches two of our Parks: Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. The Monorail also has stops at three different Walt Disney World Resort Hotels: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. The monorail also connects to the Transportation & Ticket Center which is a hub where people who drive into the Parks can connect to the Monorail transportation system or take a boat.
    • Boat: Yes, we have boats as a real complimentary transportation method! Whether it is referred to as a Ferryboat, water taxi, or Friendship boat these boats can connect you to Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and various resorts including Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The boats are so relaxing and my preferred way to travel whenever I get a chance.
    • Disney Skyliner: Our newest mode of transportation is an adventure with breathtaking views of our parks and resorts! The Skyliner connects to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT and four different Resorts: Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort.
Now it can sound a bit intense but remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. The first step I recommend you take is to download the My Disney Experience mobile app. Click the search icon on the bottom and type in your destination. I found it best to be exact so for example, I would type in the ride or restaurant you want to get to at EPCOT versus just saying the Park name. Select where you want to be and you will see a window pop up and the option to "Get Directions." It will then open up a map of the Parks with clear step-by-step directions on how to get to your destination. I love this feature and you will too!

I do hope you have a blast exploring all of our Parks and Resorts! Happy Planning!

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
