Hi there, Michael, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! First, I want to offer a big congratulations to you and your wife on your newest addition to the family! What an exciting time to visit the
Disneyland Resort to celebrate your soon-to-be family of four!
You are going to make so many special memories during your January visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! As a mom of three Mouseketeers under the age of 8, I have several tips I’d love to share with you. First, you’re going to want to get familiar with the
Baby Care Centers, available in each theme park. You’ll find the
Disneyland Park location at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., and the
Disney California Adventure Park location on Pacific Wharf. These Centers are the perfect spot to change or feed your little one. You’ll also find a handy vending machine inside each Center with diapers, wipes, sunscreen, and more. Each Center also includes a small lobby with chairs and children’s books, where your family is welcome to take a seat when your wife needs a break.
Another one of my favorite spots to take a break is the Disney Animation Building in Disney California Adventure Park. Not only is it air-conditioned, but it also includes comfy couches in the Animation Courtyard, where you and your family can sit back and watch Disney animation come to life! The Disney Animation Building is also home to experiences like
Turtle Talk with Crush, and
Animation Academy, which are two of my family’s favorites! Just down the way from the Disney Animation Building is
Disney Junior Dance Party!, which is always a hit with
toddlers!
When your family needs a break inside Disneyland Park, I suggest taking a ride on the Disneyland Railroad or the Disneyland Monorail. Both the Railroad and the Monorail offer the perfect way to explore the park while resting weary feet.
Be sure to take the time for
Character Experiences, too! My children loved giving their favorite Characters hugs and high fives as toddlers, and still do today. You can easily find your family’s favorite Characters throughout the day using the
Disneyland app. Just select “Characters” from the drop-down menu above the park map, then “Show List” in the upper right-hand corner to find out when and where you can find them!
Lastly, I recommend taking advantage of
Mobile Ordering food and drinks, which can also be done using the Disneyland app. This is a great way to avoid toddler meltdowns while waiting in line for food. My family loves the convenience of Mobile Ordering, and I think you will, too!
Wishing you and your family magical adventures at the Disneyland Resort in 2020!
