Hi Robert. My husband and I are eagerly anticipating the day when the two of us can sneak down to Walt Disney World alone and try out the deluxe dining plan. We, too, have used the basic dining plan with the kids in tow, but since dining is a huge part of the vacation experience for us, we've been intrigued with the deluxe plan since it was announced.
One of the nicest things about the deluxe plan is that your three dining credits (per night of your stay) can be used at either counter service or sit-down restaurants. When the opportunity does arise for my husband and I to indulge our tastebuds and try out the deluxe plan I foresee us doing two meals most days: one at a sit-down restaurant, and one at a signature dining locations (these meals, of course, require two credits per person). And that brings me to my dining recommendations...
I really like Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. It's one the signature dining locations and once you taste the offerings you'll understand why. For something a bit less elegant, I highly recommend Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studios. It gets a bad rap sometimes but it is a family favorite for us. My husband's favorite in all the "world' is Le Cellier at Epcot. And for something fun (and tasty) you might consider 'Ohana at the Disney's Polynesian resort.
If you go with the
deluxe dining plan, you're sure to experience some good eatin' wherever you choose to dine!
