My wife and I are planning to run the 2013 half marathon at Walt Disney World. What are the host resorts for the 2013 half marathon? Is there a specific resort that is better than the others in regards to convenience, location, etc.?

Hi!  You will love the Walt Disney World Half Marathon!  It is definitely one of my favorite races!

Because there are so many runners that take part in the different events during Marathon Weekend, ALL of the Walt Disney World Resorts are host resorts.  This means there will be bus transportation to and from all race events (expo for packet pick-up and races) at every resort.  Resort choice can be based on many things.  The biggest thing people usually consider is budget.  There are Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts available.  Personally, I like the Epcot area resorts.  (These are Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk)  The reason we usually choose these is because Epcot is my family's favorite park, and you can walk into Epcot from these resorts.  However, all Disney World Resorts offer transportation to all theme parks and Downtown Disney.

I would encourage you to spend some time browsing around the Resort options on the Disney World website to see which resort looks best for you!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.  I hope to see you at the race!
