Hi Mom's My wife and I have planned to take our 8yr. old granddaughter to WDW in May. I made reservations to stay at the Contempory Deluxe Hotel but not sure if I made the right choice. Would the Polynesian Resort be a better choice?

    Hi, Michael!

You have asked a very difficult question as you are choosing between my 2 favorite Deluxe Resorts!

I love that at the Contemporary, you can walk to the Magic Kingdom.  This is a huge bonus in my book!  I also enjoy the 4th floor of the resort with Chef Mickey's, Contempo Cafe, and some great gift shops.  It is so "Disney" to be eating your breakfast as the monorail zooms past you inside the building!

Now for the Polynesian...It is amazing!  We love the Volcano pool, the tropical feel, the tiki torches burning in the evenings, and the fun Captain Cooks (food court) where you can grab your meal and sit pool side.  You really get that relaxed, vacation feel.  You are just a short monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom, and you can walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center to catch the Epcot monorail.

IF I had to pick between the two, I would choose Polynesian, just because I think your princess might enjoy the beach, especially at night time.  You and your wife can relax on beach chairs and watch the Electric Water Pageant sail by as your granddaughter plays in the sand.

If you are able to change resorts, great.  If you cannot or simply choose to stay at Contemporary, you will not be disappointed.  Both are amazing resorts and you will create wonderful memories at either resort.  Good luck deciding!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
