Galactic greetings to you, Devon! Thanks for bringing your out-of-this-world question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I’m so excited to hEAR that you’ll be visiting Batuu soon! And I’m even more thrilled to hEAR that you’ll be building a lightsaber there! I recently had the opportunity to watch my son build a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers, and it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had at the
Disneyland Resort!
So, here’s how the reservation system works – you can make your reservation up to 60 days in advance, so I recommend booking it as soon as you know your preferred timing. If the
virtual queue is being used, Guests with reservations at Savi’s Workshop will be allowed to enter the land up to one hour prior to their reservation time, at the Fantasyland entrance. So, as long as you have a reservation, you shouldn’t have to worry about being able to access
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. I haven’t heard of lightsabers running out at Savi’s Workshop, but I have heard of some lightsabers and popular accessories running out quickly at
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. This shop is located next-door to Savi’s Workshop, and it’s also a great spot to purchase additional items for your lightsaber, including kyber crystals.
Guests should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their reservation time at the check-in spot in front of Savi’s Workshop. Each builder is allowed to bring up to two Guests to watch this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Should you have any additional questions, please call (714) 300-7805.
After building your lightsaber, I recommend heading over to the
Milk Stand to sample Blue and Green Milk. My favorite way to enjoy this special concoction is to purchase it through the
Disneyland app. I also suggest making a reservation at Batuu’s local watering hole,
Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Resort. There’s nothing better than sipping on delicious exotic beverages while listening to DJ R-3X mix up some funky beats!
Enjoy the lightsaber experience, Devon, and may the Force be with you!
