My wife and I are both in our 60’s and plan to visit WDW this fall. Can you suggest a resort? We will visit all of the parks but will probably spend the most time at Epcot. We don’t use the pool but restaurants and atmosphere are important to us. Thank

    Hi Gary!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It doesn’t matter how “young” you are because while you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, you never actually have to grow up! In my opinion, you will be visiting during the best time of the year! During your stay, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be in full swing. Not only does this festival culinary cooking techniques from around the world, but there are also a variety of seminars to participate in. Last year there were over 30 food booths, and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store.

Since you will be spending most of your time at EPCOT and location and atmosphere are important, I would highly recommend staying at one of the Resort hotels closest to EPCOT. My favorite Resort hotel is Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The guest rooms have recently been refurbished and are spacious and inviting. Disney’s Beach Club Resort is right next door, and they both share a lot of the same amenities. Located within these two Resort hotels are great dining options for both casual and elegant dining choices. I have spent many nights visiting Crew’s Cup Lounge and the Ale & Compass Lounge. There is a variety of delicious appetizers for purchase, as well as many adult beverage options. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is another excellent choice. Themed like an Atlantic City hotel, this Resort hotel offers unique entertainment, exciting nightlife, and unique dining.

Each of the Resort hotels that I mentioned is within walking distance to EPCOT. With plenty of nightlife, great restaurants, and bars such as AbracadaBar, I hope that one of these Resort hotels will offer you precisely what you are looking for!
