My wife and I want to plan a Disney vacation for our young family a few years in the future, 3-5 years actually. Is there programs where you can purchase a package at today's prices and lock them in for a future trip?

Mike, you can never start too early when planning a visit to Mickey!

Currently packages are not available to purchase several years in advance at today's prices. You may book a room by phone 499 days in advance, but once new pricing is released your rate will be adjusted. For example, if you reserve a week at Disney's Pop Century now for February 2015, when room rates for 2015 are released, your bill will be changed to reflect the new pricing. Typically you may make online reservations or book a package once rates for a new year are released, historically in mid to late summer. If you are looking to book a trip for 2015, keep an eye out during Sumer 2014 for packages and rates to be announced.

Consider subscribing to online newsletters from nonDisney websites such as MouseSavers so you will be hip to all the ways to save on your Walt Disney World vacation and Touring Plans so you will be an expert on the parks and resorts by the time you arrive.
