Ahoy again, James! Welcome back to planDisney. Thanks for navigating our way again.
I'm so glad you sailed to us with your question because ensuring you have proper travel documentation is an important planning step as your prepare for your Disney Cruise vacation. In the instance of round-trip cruises sailing from the United States to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Pacific Coast, Bermuda, or Canada, it is possible for a citizen of the United States to travel without a passport. While passports are highly encouraged, you may travel with an original or copy of your wife's state-issued birth certificate and a Government-issued photo ID. I encourage you to read the
Passports, Visa, and Citizenship Documentation information on the Disney Cruise Line website for more details.
Please be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your smartphone. You can choose to use either the app or the Disney Cruise Line website to check in to your cruise 30 days prior to your sailing date. During the check-in process, you will be required to provide photos of your travel documentation for review. You will also need to bring this important paperwork with you when you arrive at the port. Kindly keep it with you in the carry-on luggage that you will bring onboard the ship. It is also recommended that you place any jewelry, electronics, valuables, and medication in your carry-on bag. The remainder of your luggage will be left with porters at the cruise port and will be delivered directly to your stateroom within a few hours of boarding the ship.
If you'd like to visit the pools shortly after boarding, you can bring a swimsuit in your carry-on luggage too. My family's tradition is to eat a delicious lunch after stepping on board and then we head poolside for some swimming and lounging! It's a great way to start the vacation with a splash!
I'm excited for you to dive into all of the fun awaiting you onboard. Please cruise our way again if you have any further questions. My pals and I are happy to help!
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
