Hi John, welcome to planDisney!
You've found the right place for all of your tech-stions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I don't consider myself the most tech-savvy individual, except when it comes to the technology involved in planning and executing a Disney vacation. Practice makes progress, which is why I'm super proud of your efforts to understand the ins and outs of
My Disney Experience before your vacation.
When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with others, it's important for all members of your party to connect as
Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. Once someone appears on your
Family and Friends list, you can view and make plans for each other. Specifically, you can
link tickets, make
theme park reservations, purchase
Disney Genie+ service, and book Lighting Lane attractions for them. Depending on your settings, you can view all plans or shared plans of Family and Friends, including park tickets, theme park reservations, Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservations, and dining reservations. It sounds like you may know all of that already, and it also sounds like you've discovered something you can't see.
Unless someone's name has the words "Plans Managed by Me" next to it on your Family and Friends list, John, you cannot see their MagicBands or admission cards. As long as your wife's MagicBand appears on her
MagicBands and Cards page, it's ready to tap into magic at theme park entry,
Lightning Lane entrances, and with
Disney PhotoPass photographers. If she has one of the new
MagicBand+ designs, she'll also be able to interact with the
Fab 50 character statues. You'll find Mickey and Minnie to the right of the Partners Statue in front of Cinderella Castle. Please tell them I say, "Hi!"
Thanks for plugging into planDisney. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
