Hi my wife and I will be going for 4 nights and we were still wondering if they will have pirates night and if the cruise will be decorated in October? Will there still be costumes competitions?

    Hi Matthew!

I'm thrilled to hEAR you'll be cruising on the Disney Wonder; she’s my favorite ship! I’ve sailed on her twice, once to Alaska and once to Mexico from New Orleans. Both were amazing itineraries, and yet two entirely different experiences. I hope that your Baja cruise will be another WONDERful vacation for you and your crew!

It’s still unclear whether there will be a Pirate Night during your voyage or not. I know that the Disney Cruise Line crew is working feverishly to figure out all the details as we speak. Stay tuned for announcements from Captain Mickey on the Disney Cruise Line website and the Disney Parks Blog for specifics about what the Disney Wonder will be offering.

Since the Disney Wonder is not slated to resume sailing until September 2021, I would expect this news to come out sometime in August. And of course, we can watch with eager anticipation how the Disney Dream handles her first few voyages beginning August 9th and read all about what happens onboard to see if perhaps those will be similar protocols used on the Disney Wonder. I do know that the “Pirates in the Caribbean” Deck Party as well as other deck parties on the Disney Dream have been temporarily paused, so it’s highly likely that the same will be true for the Disney Wonder. We just don’t know for sure yet.

As for Halloween decorations, since you will be on a Halloween on the High Seas voyage, you can expect there to be lots of Halloween theming and decor. I’m not so sure about the costume contests or not. I understand why you would love to get in the holiday spirit with costumes and fun activities. The "Halloween Isn't Just for Kids" costume contest for adults really wowed us on our Halloween on the High Seas itinerary. I’ve never seen such incredible costumes before, including a couple dressed up to perfection as Walt and Lillian Disney and a trio who went all in as Disney villains Cruella de Vil, Ursula, and the Evil Queen.

Matthew, feel free to drop by planDisney again if you have more questions. I promise all treats and no tricks! Wishing you a fabulous adventure at sea!
