My wife has some neck issues that will prevent her from riding many rides on our next trip but we don’t want her to have to sit alone while we are in line for rides. Can she go through the line with us and exit when we get to the ride vehicle?

    Hi Clyde,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for sending us your question.  One of the many things that I love about visiting Walt Disney World Resort is how my family and I are able just relax and enjoy spending time together.

As my daughter is getting older, she has become more of a thrill seeker, and while I love some of the bigger attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, once is enough for me.  I have been very thankful for the alternative exits available for me to use over the past few years.  Your wife will be able to enjoy walking through the queue with you and the rest of your family and when you arrive at the attraction loading area, simply tell the Cast Member that she won't be riding.  The Cast Member will direct her to the exit where she will be able to meet up with you after you have finished.  This process will look slightly different at each attraction.  For The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, guests will be directed to an elevator that leads to the gift shop (don't worry, this elevator is drop free), while Big Thunder Mountain Railroad guests will need to walk through the attraction vehicle to wait for their party.  At some attractions such as The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, guests will be able to wait right there, as the attraction loads and unloads at the same location, whereas on the Kilimanjaro Safaris guests not riding are asked to wait for their party by the strollers.

Sometimes while I am waiting for my family to enjoy an attraction, I drop them off at the attraction and then take the time to enjoy a tasty snack or do some shopping.  I could spend hours browsing the shops, which isn't something my husband and daughter enjoy, so it makes everyone happy!

I hope you and your family have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Clyde.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.

    ~Stephanie
