Welcome back to planDisney, James!
As your Walt Disney World Resort vacation countdown continues, it's smart to be thinking through the logistics for you and your party. It's also never too early to start practicing your
My Disney Experience mobile app thumb choreography. Where can I find park hours? How do I make a
mobile food and beverage order? What time is
Disney Enchantment tonight? Practice makes progress and the more you familiarize yourself with the in-app click patterns, the more you'll be able to enjoy your time together in the parks.
Lodging at the picturesque
Shades of Green includes extra space, a central location, and convenient transportation options. I had the honor of being a sponsored Guest at Shades of Green twice during the past year. When checking in with my sponsor, I was given a Guest I.D. Card, which I kept with me at all times. The cards are made of paper, so you'll want to make sure they're kept someplace safe where they won't get wet. I learned this the hard way when I went for a run and placed the card in my shoe!
At check-in, James, make sure each member of your party gets their own Resort I.D. Card. Sponsored Guests are required to show their Guest I.D. Card along with photo identification to ride Shades of Green transportation, with or without the sponsor. Unlike Walt Disney World Resort transportation, Shades of Green transportation runs on a
specific schedule. Another option for getting around Disney property is to take
Walt Disney World Transportation to/from
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. I especially recommend using the Polynesian's
monorail station to get to/from Magic Kingdom park. The walk from the Polynesian to Shades of Green takes approximately 15 minutes.
A world of magic awaits you during the
50th Anniversary Celebration; planDisney awaits your next trip-planning question.
