Hello there, Benjamin! Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney with your question.
To be able to get back to a world of magic, Walt Disney World has put in
policies and procedures to adhere to while visiting right now. Currently, face coverings are required for all Guests 2 years of age and older while walking about Walt Disney World property. At this time, there are no exceptions to this rule. If your wife is not able to wear a face covering, this might not be the best time to plan a Walt Disney World vacation for your family. Of course, safety protocols are constantly being reevaluated and are subject to change at any time. I suggest keeping an eye over on the Disney Parks Blog for any announcement that is made regarding this issue.
If your wife thinks she would be able to wear a face-covering for short periods of time and you do decide to visit the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks, I encourage you to take advantage of the relaxation stations set up throughout the parks. These are designated areas where Guests are able to take their face coverings off and relax without actively eating or drinking. Some of these locations are inside and are air-conditioned and others are outside. The relaxation stations have been designed with plenty of space for each party and I have felt completely safe when visiting them. You may also remove your face covering outside of these zones when physically distanced from other people while actively eating or drinking. An update has recently been made that you are also able to remove your face coverings when taking a quick family photo outside but must promptly be put back on after the picture has been taken.
Again, these safety protocols have been put into place for everyone's safety at this time. If you have any other questions about the health and safety protocols or anything else, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
