Dawn,
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us here at planDisney. I’m truly sorry for everything your wife has been through. Losing so many loved ones in such a short time is unimaginable, and yet here you are, still trying to bring light into her life. That’s incredibly touching. Your love and care for her shine so brightly through your words, and I want you to know that just by trying to bring a little magic back into her life, you’re already doing something incredibly special.
Disney means so much to so many of us because it’s a place of joy, healing, and togetherness. It sounds like it’s been that for her, and I hope it can continue to be a space where her heart feels a little lighter and her smile can return, if only for a moment.
And the wonderful news is, there are ways to bring that Disney magic to life, even on a small budget.
One of the easiest ways is through a Walt Disney World
vacation package. By booking directly with Disney, you can bundle a resort stay and park tickets together. It currently requires a $200 deposit, and you can make payments over time, on your own schedule, up until 30 days before your trip. It’s a helpful way to plan gradually without a big upfront cost.
For the best value, I recommend our Disney Value Resorts, like Disney’s All-Star or
Pop Century Resorts. They’re the most budget friendly options on property and still come with great perks like early park entry and complimentary transportation.
You can also bring your own food and drinks into the parks, something a lot of people don’t realize! Packing some simple snacks or sandwiches can go a long way in saving on dining. And if it helps, slowly collecting Disney gift cards over time can be a creative and manageable way to save up toward your trip or for special treats while you’re here.
If your schedule allows, visiting during less busy times of year, like late January, early February, or early fall can make things even more affordable, both for tickets and resort stays.
Above all, know that even the smallest Disney moments can create the biggest smiles. A fireworks view, a favorite character spotted in the distance, or a simple stroll down Main Street, USA hand in hand. You don’t have to do it all, you just have to be there together.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your wife the kind of visit that brings comfort, connection, and maybe even a little magic back into your lives. If there’s anything I can do to help you plan or find the right option for your budget, please don’t hesitate to
reach out to me directly or any of us here at planDisney. We’re here for you, and we can’t wait to welcome you both home to the magic.
Kay
