Hey Howdy Hey Michael and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with your question on specifics with proof of residency verification. I will be happy to get you pointed in the right direction and get you some answers. Let's jump in!
Proof of residency is only needed by Florida residents when purchasing things like annual passes or general tickets to theme parks. Disney might also have some really good deals on stays at a Disney Resort Collection hotel which Florida residents might take advantage of as well which will also require proof of residency for these deals.
If you are a Florida resident booking theme park tickets, you will be able to
verify your Florida residency in two ways. The first would be online during your purchase of these tickets or passes. As you move through the steps of purchase, you should see an option and form to fill out titled "Your Florida Resident Information" and after that, you should be all set. You can also make this purchase online but stop at any ticket window to activate your ticket or passes by showing your proof of residency. Disney does have a very strict policy on what counts so I would urge you to view the
options of proof of residency qualifying documents (YES, your homeowner's policy will count!)
In most cases with things such as proof of residency, Disney uses them at the point of purchase for reference but usually will not retain them in their system. I always recommend that even if you verified your proof of residency online, you should always carry one form with you as well on your trip just in case anything does come up where a Cast Member would need to see it.
I hope this information helped get you some answers as well as where to find more information. As you continue to plan for your upcoming trip, make sure to keep an eye on the
Florida Residents page on the Walt Disney World Resort site for any updates on offers and all the benefits that being a Florida resident brings you! Please feel free to stop back and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
