My wife is handicapped and we have a handicapped parking permit. What is the cost to park at theme parks in handicap spots? Also, where is the motorized scooter rentals in Hollywood and availability each morning?

    Hi, Todd! Welcome to planDisney!

Hot dog! You and your wife will be starting your adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort in just a few days! Let's help you get those last-minute details worked out so you can get back to dreaming of all the fun you're going to have at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

Ample handicapped parking is available at the theme parks of the Walt Disney World Resort. The website notes that the standard parking rate will apply for handicapped parking, which is currently $25 per day. If you plan to do any park hopping, you need only pay at the first theme park you visit and your parking will be covered when you head to subsequent parks in the afternoon. One less thing to think about!

You can rent Electric Conveyance Vehicles, or ECVs, in all of the theme parks. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the rental location is just inside the park entrance at Oscar's Super Service. It's the cute little old-time gas station building on the right just as you enter the theme park. They're available on a first-come, first-served basis so it's best if you try to arrive when the park opens in the morning. ECVs rented in the theme parks must be returned before you exit, so if you need one for your Resort hotel, you might want to check out Disney's featured provider, ScooterBug. You'll find more information along with contact numbers and the company's website on the ECV Rentals page I linked for you above. There's also lots of info to help you navigate the theme parks with an ECV on the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page on the website.

I hope this helps you and your wife have a wonderful time at the Walt Disney World Resort, Todd. Thank you so much for stopping by to see your planDisney pals, and I wish you a magical 2022!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
