Wife & I just finalized adoption of 2YO daughter; 1YO son spent 1st month in NICU after 5 in-utero surgeries. Want to celebrate family in special way, but age appropriate for 2 toddlers. Contemporary at Christmas; character dining reservs each day. Adv

Hi Matt! Congratulations on such a super family  and a great trip planned to celebrate just that!

It appears you will be staying at the Contemporary Resort which is near the Magic Kingdom. With the age of the children this is the park where you will likely spend most of your time so this is very convenient. I am not sure if you have made dining reservations or not but you stated character reservations each day. Christmas and the holidays are busy so this is a must for this time of year.

My favorite character dining includes Chef Mickey, Cape May, Garden Grill, O'Hanas, Tusker House, and Crystal Palace. My top character meet and greet is located in Epcot to the right of the fountain in Future World.

Some special things you can do with your toddlers beyond the parks is a ride over to Fort Wilderness for the Chip and Dale campfire singalong. It is an easy boat ride over and a short walk or bus ride to the area. It is a fun time with s'mores and music and dancing followed by a Disney movie.  Another fun part of Fort Wilderness is a trip to the Disney stables where the Magic Kingdom horses call home. If they are too young to stay on a pony for the pony rides then just let them walk around visiting with Cinderellas ponies. You can make a full evening out of a trip over by reserving Hoop Dee Doo for dinner and then a carriage ride which will take you through some of the loops to see the holiday decorations.

Definitely take them to Animal Kingdom park and make the trip to Rafiki's Planet Watch. There is a wonderful petting type area where they can interact with some of the goats and sheep and learn to brush them. Lots of space to run and learn for the young children!
