My wife and I will be in Epcot on Monday, 11/8. I just learned about Space 220 and was disappointed when I attempted to make reservations and found none were available. Is there such a thing as a stand-by list or could you help us get a reservation?

Hello, John, and welcome to planDisney!

It's always so exciting when new things open up at Walt Disney World. The all-new Space 220 Restaurant looks incredible and I know so many people are looking forward to this unique dining experience. Unfortunately, I am not able to help you land a reservation and in fact, I wasn't able to get one for myself during my trip next week either so we are both in the same boat here.

However, I do have some good news for both of us. The Space 220 Lounge (which is the bar and lounge area for this restaurant) is going to be a walk-up first-come, first-serve list! I actually love dining in the lounge areas at different Walt Disney World restaurants that can be hard to secure reservations for and I think this one is going to be a lot of fun. The lounge for Space 220 is in the same dining room area as the rest of the restaurant so Guests that visit will have the same stellar views as everyone else. For dining options, the lounge offers a flight bites menu with some lounge exclusives or you can also opt to do the whole prix fixe meal service. You'll also find a selection of soft drinks, wine, beer and Atmospheric Spirits also known as cocktails to enjoy!

Of course, if you have your heart set on landing a reservation for Space 220 my best advice is to keep trying. People cancel reservations all of the time and that does get reflected in the reservation system so spots will open up. I like to check at odd times throughout the day and especially first thing in the morning when the reservation system opens up at 6:00 a.m. Also, the closer it gets to a vacation, the more I notice reservations opening up because people don't want to be charged the no-show fee. So you really do just have to be persistent about checking back.

I hope you are able to enjoy Space 220 during your next Walt Disney World vacation, John. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
