Hey there, hi there, ho there, Michael,
You’re as welcome as can be here at planDisney. It’s a privilege to provide you with advice, Guest-to-Guest, for making the most of your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! And I’d say that adding more days to your visit is certainly going to help make the most of your visit.
There are usually two options for adding more days to your visit to the Disneyland Resort: either purchase additional tickets or upgrade your existing tickets to have more days. Unless you are planning on more than five days in the theme parks or you would like to have two different types of tickets (e.g. both one-park-per-day tickets and
Park Hopper tickets), it is usually most cost-effective to upgrade your existing tickets. The most straightforward way to upgrade theme park tickets is to visit one of the main entrance ticket booths. You may also enquire about ticket upgrades by calling the
Tickets phone line or initiating a chat in the
Disneyland mobile app or online. A Cast Member will be able to cancel your existing tickets and issue new tickets. You’ll pay only the difference in cost between the amount originally paid for your tickets and the cost of the new tickets at the time of upgrade.
Because your existing tickets will be canceled when you upgrade, your existing
theme park reservations will also be canceled. So it’s important to first check the
theme park reservation availability calendar to make sure that reservations for both your added days and your previously-existing days are available to book with your new tickets. After you are issued new tickets, use the ‘+’ button at the bottom of the screen in the Disneyland app and select “Make a Park Reservation” to book new reservations from the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page.
I hope you have a most magical time making memories with your wife at the Disneyland Resort, Michael. If there is anything else we can do to help you with planning your visit, we’d be happy to hear from you again here at planDisney.
