My wife and I are going to be at Disney World from Oct 28 to Nov 1. Trying to reserve Dining but it's showing Dining Plans Temp unavailable. Are the restaurants closed in Disney Springs?

Hi there, Dave! Welcome to planDisney!

Dining at the Walt Disney World Resort is practically an attraction in itself! There's something for just about every taste you can imagine, from burgers and fries to steak and seafood. Let's help you plate up something delicious for your vacation this weekend!

First, we should chat about the Disney Dining Plan. It's traditionally been available as an add-on to a Resort hotel stay in which Guests could pre-pay and receive a certain amount of credits for their meals. The Disney Dining Plan has been on hiatus since the Walt Disney World Resort reopened, but Disney has said it's going to return one day soon!

But the good news is, you don't need the Disney Dining Plan to enjoy the amazing food at the Walt Disney World Resort! Most of the restaurants are open for business, so let's walk through the process for making a reservation.

If you hop over to the Dining page on the Walt Disney World website, you'll see several ways to filter your search just above the restaurant listings. To find a table at Disney Springs, click on "All Parks & Resorts," then scroll down to "Other Destinations," and check the box for "Disney Springs." Below that, we can select the date and time (or meal period like "Dinner") and the size of your party, then hit the green "Search Times" button. I did a quick search for dinner on your first night, October 28, and there were lots of choices! Here's a partial list:

    The BOATHOUSE - 8:45 p.m.
    City Works Eatery & Pour House - 5:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.
    Enzo's Hideaway - 6 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.
    STK Orlando - 6:45 p.m. & 7:45 p.m.
    Wine Bar George (one of my faves!) - 4:30 p.m. & 10:30 p.m.

You'll also see that some restaurants, like Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and The Edison, aren't showing availability for dinner on Thursday night.

If you happen to have the My Disney Experience mobile app on your phone, searching for dining there works in much the same way. Just click on the "+" sign at the bottom of your screen and on "Check Dining Availability," then enter your party size, the date, and time you're searching for. It's really convenient to use the app when you're in the parks!

I hope this helps you find just the special meal you were looking for, Dave. Feel free to drop by and ask another question if you're still having trouble, and we'll do our best to help. In the meantime, I wish you a magical vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
