My wife and I both have the My Disney Experience App on our phones using the same account. We have several children who have Magic Band+'s. Can we pair our kids' bands to both of our phones or can each band only be paired to one phone?

Welcome to planDisney, Heather! Thanks for sending us your question about the new MagicBand+! I recently got to test drive mine in the parks, so I'm happy to provide you with some advice.

The MagicBand+ still includes the same RFID technology as the previous 2.0 version, enabling you to open your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room door, scan into the parks, pay for purchases, and redeem Lightning Lane reservations- all those features we know and love! However, the latest technology has some pretty cool upgrades. Wait until you experience how it lights up in sync with Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom Park and Harmonious in EPCOT!

I bought my MagicBand+ from my resort gift shop, but if possible, I recommend ordering one in advance at shopdisney.com or preordering from My Disney Experience if you are a Walt Disney World hotel guest. This way, you can ensure it is fully charged- it comes with its own charging cable (spares can be purchased separately). You can also pair it to your mobile device ahead of time. You will only be able to have each MagicBand+ paired to one device at a time, though you should be able to unpair from one device and pair it with another later.

The pairing process is fairly straightforward and only takes a few minutes using your My Disney Experience app. Tap the three stacked lines in the lower right corner, and then choose MagicBands and More- then follow the prompts. If your MagicBand+ won't tap-to-pair, try removing your phone case. You'll also want to enable Bluetooth permissions on your phone for full functionality. The kids will enjoy customizing their bands by selecting a "Light Up Theme Color." I like to have a portable battery or FuelRod in my park bag. The band's battery life can drain quickly if you plan to play games such as Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters (and you definitely should). Install the Play Disney Parks app on your phones before your trip, where you'll also find a fun scavenger hunt called the Fab 50 Quest!

I hope this helps, Heather! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us. See ya real soon!
