Hello, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer, she pledge to our 12yrDD (a Cars fanatic) that we would go to DL to celebrate beating cancer. We will be in DL late this Sept. Does Disney produce bc related merchandise? Staying at DLH. Thanks!

    Hi, Julia!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your question. I’m so glad to hear that you’re planning a family vacation to the Disneyland Resort to celebrate your wife’s triumph over cancer! What a happy and special visit it will be for all of you, especially your Cars-loving daughter.

Although I have not seen merchandise that is specifically branded for breast cancer awareness at the theme parks in the past, there is certainly no shortage of pink items at the Disneyland Resort, from clothing, to jewelry, to accessories and keepsakes! If you’re looking for a special souvenir, a Disney pin with a pink princess theme would be a good choice, and an ear hat that can be embroidered with “Survivor” and your wife’s name would be another great way to commemorate your magical visit.

Be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park to pick up free “I’m celebrating!” buttons for the whole family. A Cast Member will be happy to add the reason for your celebration to your wife’s button to make it extra special. You can also order a custom decorated bakery cake to enjoy after a meal at any table-service restaurant for a memorable surprise. Cakes can be ordered in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463). Another fun idea is to bring along a small sign or banner with the message of your choice that she can hold for a one-of-a-kind photo in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

I hope this helps, and that you have a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Please feel free to write back with more questions as you continue to plan.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
