What a treat it is to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth in both summer and winter, Keith! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney and address your question about any leftover days on a 14 Day Magic Ticket. Since you're focused on planning a triumphant return to the United States later this year, I'd be happy to fill you in on the details of the ticket your wife and daughter used in August.
I went to the
Disney Holidays UK site and took a look at the details for the 14 Day Magic Ticket since that's what your family used this past August. If you scroll down beneath the calendar and look at the third paragraph in the fine print, you'll spot the following statement: "Disney 14-Day Magic Ticket is valid for use up to 18 days from the start date of the ticket." Unfortunately, this means that the window to use the remaining days on the ticket has passed and you'll need to purchase a new ticket for your upcoming visit in December. I'd follow the advice on the site and "buy before you fly" since these tickets are only available to guests in the UK and Ireland!
If you opt for the 7 Day Magic Ticket in December, you will have 15 days to use that ticket before it expires. I also noticed all the awesome extras that are packed into this ticket, and I hope you'll be able to take advantage of them on your upcoming holiday. Hit the links for a round of miniature golf with the family prior to 4PM or visit multiple theme parks or
water parks in one day using the Park Hopper option. One of the best benefits of this ticket type is that Memory Maker is included! You can download and access all of the awesome
Disney PhotoPass pictures from your visit at no extra charge. Now that is something to smile about.
I'm sorry I didn't have better news for you this time, Keith! Please visit us again if you have more planning questions between now and your December visit. We'd love to lend a hand with your itinerary or give you a review of a hotel or restaurant we've tried. See ya real soon!
Stay magical,
Scott
