Hi, we (my wife, daughter n I) have a question Can we book genie + lighting lane n ride the attraction separately. So one of us can watch our daughter n stay outside. Do we need to reservations or is one enough ?

Hello, Steven, and welcome to planDisney! I am so glad you stopped by with this question as you plan for your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few days. I know you are going to create amazing memories with your wife and daughter!

You have a few options for navigating the parks with your family. You can use Genie+ for the attractions you all want to enjoy together and attractions that may not be for everyone.

I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but I recommend taking a look at the Planning Guide for Parents of Toddlers. You can see all there is to amaze young kids, including a list of kid-friendly attractions. For any of these that offer Lightning Lane entry, add all three of you to your party when making a selection and you are ready to go.

For rides with a little more thrill, you and your wife can use Rider Switch where it's available. This is a phenomenal option for both Genie+ and the standby line. Just check with a Cast Member as you approach the queue and they will share the procedures for where the non-rider and child can wait for the first rider. Then you switch and the second person can go.

You can also choose different attractions in Genie+. For example, you may want to pummel through the darkness on Space Mountain while your wife and daughter race the Tomorrowland Speedway. You make selections for people individually, so you can select one for you and a different attraction for your wife and daughter. There is so much flexibility that makes the day easy, breezy.

If you have any questions while you are in the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, you can ask the Guest Experience Team. Just look for their blue umbrellas. If you have any other questions about planning a Walt Disney World vacation, please come back to planDisney. We delight in helping guests like you know the best ways to enjoy your visits!
