Greetings Mark!
Thanks for bringing your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is always a Magical time but visiting during the holiday season is even more Magical. There’s so much to do and see you will be overwhelmed with all the sights and smells of the holiday season!
Theme Parks have reached capacity in the past. I’ve seen the capacity announcement made on New Year’s Eve and Christmas Day. My best advice, on these unique dates, is to arrive early and stay in the parks. Since your son is performing, I recommend arriving at
Magic Kingdom Park prior to his performance time. If he is needing a change of shoes or clothes for his performance later in the day, I recommend
renting a locker to store any extras he will be needing. I know many people arrive early to see the
New Year’s Eve Fireworks, so just plan to be there as soon as you are able to arrive.
I also recommend purchasing tickets to
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on an evening your son isn’t performing. It’s the best way to enjoy the holiday season. There are many attractions open with shorter wait times, plenty of holiday treats to try, and enchanting holiday entertainment like the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show! You will feel jolly after spending the evening celebrating with Mickey and all his Pals!
Have a Magical Day!
