Hiya John - welcome back to
planDisney!
I'm happy to hEAR that you and your wife will be visiting in December and will get to experience all of the wonderful
Disney holiday magic! I'm usually focused on food when planning my own Walt Disney World Resort trips, so I'm glad that eating is on the top of your planning list too!
With hundreds of dining locations across the entire Walt Disney World Resort, the options are almost endless. While Advance Dining Reservations are a great way to plan ahead and ensure you get to enjoy specific dining experiences, there are plenty of phenomenal options that don't accept or require reservations. That being said, you should also know that reservations pop up all the time. When another Guest cancels their reservation, it becomes available for everyone else! I've had great luck getting a lunch reservation at some great restaurants the day before or even the day of my visit. Some dining locations that typically only take reservations may also have
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability when they are not at full capacity with reservations!
Some of my favorite Quick Service locations include
Satu'li Canteen at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the brand new
Connections Eatery at
EPCOT, and
Ronto Roasters at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. All offer
Mobile Order service through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to make lunch a breeze. There are also several great options at
Disney Springs that are walk-up, including the newly expanded
Chicken Guy!There are also some fantastic lounges that can be perfect for lunch ... and maybe a cocktail too! A favorite among the planDisney panelists is the
Nomad Lounge at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Request to be seated outside on the wraparound deck - you never know who might float by on the waterway while you nibble on some
exotic fare!
I hope this information is helpful, John.
Please stop by with any other questions you might have as you continue planning!
