My wife has celeiac disease and she has to be on a gluton free diet. How do we go about this in our dining reservations. Do we tell the restaaurants ahead of time or what, who can take care of this for us. Thank you, hope u can help us.

    Hi Larry,

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question.  I can assure you that the Walt Disney World Resort has a culinary team that is completely dedicated to creating enjoyable dining experiences for all of their Guests.

When making your Advance Dining Reservations, please make a note of the allergy whether it is an online reservation or over the phone with a Castmember.  You can also email Special.Diets@disneyworld.com to let the chefs know that your wife has a gluten allergy.  They will correspond with you and decide what the safest options are for her.

When you arrive at the restaurant please tell your server that she has a food allergy.  The chef will come out personally to speak with her about the allergy, and will decide with her, what food is going to be prepared and how.  Most restaurants are now offering allergy-friendly menus, just ask for one if you'd like.

Another tip:  If you're dining at a Quick Service restaurant please tell the Castmember behind the counter what your concerns are.  A manager will bring you a list of all the ingredients that each menu item contains.

I can assure you that the Disney culinary team will make every effort to prepare safe meals for guests with allergies and diet restrictions.

    Have a magical vacation Larry!
