My wife and I are bringing our two year old to Walt Disney World the first week of December and staying at the Caribbean Beach resort, I have heard that some buildings are more accessible to pool and food court, could you tell me which one(s)?

The Caribbean Beach Resort is a great choice for a winter getaway. You'll get a dose of tropical flair along with the magic of a Disney resort.

CBR is a large resort. To appreciate its size, I suggest that you look at a map of the resort. If you visit www.allearsnet.com, you'll find a handy map of your resort under the Accommodations section. To access it, click on Accommodations from the home page, then scroll down to find your resort. Next click on Photos text link and the resort map will be waiting just another click away!

You will see that CBR is divided in to six villages. Martinique and Trinidad North are the closest to Old Port Royale which contains the food court, restaurant, arcade and gift shop. These villages are also closest to the main themed pool which is currently being renovated with a pirate theme. It'll be unveiled hopefully in September!

While Martinique and Trinidad North are closest to the resort amenities, they also are booked at a higher rate. These "preferred rooms" are worth the extra cost to some families. On our stay, we chose to stay in the Jamaica village. It was a pleasant (although a bit long after a tiring day) walk over two nice bridges and the Caribbean Cay island to the main area. We were in a building near the quiet pool. I think if you requested Building 45 that your walk would be much shorter. However building assignment is not guaranteed. Aruba building 51 would also give you a closer location to the pool and food court.

The Custom House is set aside from the other resort amenities. However this is where the Front Desk is located and where you will arrive to check in.

There are many pleasant courtyards, beaches with playgrounds and kid meals are served in sand pails with an attached shovel!

Please note that there are no elevators in the buildings so you may want to request a first floor room since you are traveling with your young child.
