My wife and I are booking our vacation for October 2012 at Port Orleans Riverside royal room, however we heard that the Swan and Dolphin Resort give discounts for law enforcement / teachers. So my question is which is the better deal with or w/o f/dining?

    Hi Christopher,

Let me try to help you with an idea of what the costs could look like - again, these are just estimates.

Five nights in October in 2012 at Port Orleans Riverside Royal Room (jealous, by the way!) would be about $1,000. To add the dining plan would be around $515, which is what you would save if free dining offered.

Five nights in October in 2012 at the Swan/Dolphin with a teacher discount would start around $645; you would also need to pay for transportation to/from the airport if you aren't renting a car.  You'd also need to then pay for food, which based on the cost of the dining plan would make this option more expensive.

Tickets would be additional costs for both options.

So, I think staying with your original plan of staying at Port Orleans may be a better investment.

Please let us know if we can help again; thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.
